No Way Baby!
No Way Baby! has been specially designed for both male and female teenagers of years 9, 10 and 11.The course has five specific areas:
Contraception
Covering the various different forms of contraception, how each are used, what they look like and how they can be obtained. Emphasis will be made on abstinence and how to deal with peer pressure.
Sexually Transmitted Infections
Looking at the cause and effect of sexually transmitted infections, young people will gain knowledge of the important facts to avoid infection and dispel myths.
Pregnancy Practicality Issues
Examining the practical issues of teenage pregnancy. Focusing on budgeting and the realities of housing and support.
Real Care Practical Parenting
Discovering the effects of abuse i.e. drugs and alcohol on an unborn foetus. Young people will be given the opportunity to undertake first-hand experience of handling and looking after a baby using YaSiG’s simulated babies. All young people can take the babies home, given parental consent.
Project Review
Reviewing the data from the simulated babies and discussing the young people’s experiences.
Course Delivery
YaSiG can offer ten places on each No Way Baby! course.
